Will I be able to get two reverse mortgages if I own two apartments in the same building?

"I'm afraid this isn't possible as you can only take out a reverse mortgage on your principal residence. If you meet our requirements on age, property value and existing mortgage debt, then you should be OK to take a reverse mortgage on the apartment you live in. You can't reverse mortgage the other apartment you own as they are two separate residences. Another point to note is that your apartment will need to have been approved by HUD (Department of Housing & Urban Development). If your apartment hasn't yet been approved, you can apply for it to go through the approval process. Contact us and we can quickly tell you if HUD has approved your apartment or not. You can also ask any other questions you may have about reverse mortgages and the ways we could help you lead a better life.
